How to Get Shadow in "Sonic the Hedgehog"

"Sonic the Hedgehog" is the 2006 installment of the long-running "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise. This game shares its name with the first installment in the series. 2006's "Sonic the Hedgehog" follows Sonic, Shadow and series newcomer Silver the Hedgehog as they try to solve the mystery of the "Iblis Trigger." You'll be able to play as all three of these hedgehogs in this game, as well as Knuckles, Tails and a host of sidekicks. Initially, only Sonic will be available.

Instructions

Play through Sonic's Story Mode until you reach "Act 4: Crisis City."

Play through the hoverboard area. Use the board to grind down rails, make jumps and avoid your enemies. At the halfway mark, Sonic loses his hoverboard and has to proceed on foot.

Play through the super speed area. Sonic runs much faster than the hoverboard travels, which makes it difficult to avoid the cars that are flung at you at random intervals. Avoid the enemies when you can and focus on collecting rings and maintaining your speed.

Watch the cutscene at the end of the level. Completing the level unlocks Shadow's playable episode at the main title screen.

Tips & Warnings

• Sonic, Shadow and Silver all play through the same levels, but their episodes follow different, concurrent story lines. Their vastly different play styles force you to navigate the levels differently with each hedgehog.
